Ionio is a long established, friendly, family run restaurant. The location is ideal – a village atmosphere but with great sea and sunset views. The emphasis at Ionio is on traditional home cooked Greek food in an authentic environment.
Just 5 minutes drive from Fiscardo or easily reached on foot if you are staying in Agrilias or Katsarata.
If you are driving from Fiscardo, take the main road out of Fiscardo towards Assos, drive through Antipata and you will shortly approach Manganos. Ionio Restauarant is on your right hand side just before the shop.
From Agrilias walk up towards the village and turn left at the junction oppossite the mini market.
From Matsoukata or Kalograta, head towards Manganos and turn right at the mini market, Ionio is a few metres down, on your left.

A combination of friendly service, the village location, a shady garden area in which to sit and lovely sea views, give Ionio a great atmospere.
If you are there at the righ time, the view over the sea on the west coast means you will be able to witness the spectacular sunset whilst you enjoy your meal.
For those visiting in early or late season, when the weather is not so settled, It is worth remembering that there is also plenty of indoor seating at Ionio.
Ionio has earned a reputaion for providing one of the most authentic Greek music and dance evenings. These are held every Wednesday and offer an opportunity to listen to athentic live Kefalonian music and join in with some real Greek dancing too. Booking for this is advised.
Ionio restaurant specialises in providing traditional home cooked Kefalonia and Greek dishes, using the best local ingredients.
On the menu, you will find all the favourites and some new ideas too. Try the deep fried feta starter, this is coated in a crispy batter and served with sesame seeds and a drizzle of honey.
There are so many Greek dishes to try and not enough time to get to know them all. With this in mind, Ionio have created a buffet evening. This is held every Monday. For a fixed price, you can try a wide range of traditional dishes. Discover, the name of each dish, dicide which one you like the most and then go back for more of your favourite – it’s an all you can eat basis! Again, this is a most popular evening so booking is recommended.
